Eyefinity Launches Series of Resource Guides to Help Private Eyecare Practices
First Resource Guide Focuses on Business Hiring Techniques in Eyecare

Rancho Cordova, CA - June 18, 2007 - Eyefinity, the optical industry's premier office management system, announced today the launch of a new resource guide targeted at private eyecare practices. The guide, entitled "Making Great Hires in Eyecare," features a variety of tools and techniques to help doctors and their office managers make better decisions when filling new and existing roles in their practices. This free guide is the first of several that Eyefinity plans to produce this year.

"As a company that is focused on the success of private practice, we're developing new and better ways to help offices compete. Hiring is one area that is expensive not only in dollars spent, but also in its potential impact on productivity, customer service, etc.," says F. Mason Smith, O.D., and Eyefinity's Vice President of Professional Development. "We have developed this hiring guide with that in mind."

Smith noted that hiring takes on a serious dollars-and-cents reality when considering the costs. "In the first three months after hiring a new staff person, you're talking about a $7,000 investment in wages alone for a $14-an-hour staff member," says Dr. Smith, who operates a private eyecare practice in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. "And the costs to productivity, etc., don't stop there if that new hire doesn't work out. The bottom line is that hiring is critical to success. We need to invest the proper time up front and use the principles in this guide to ensure we get the right people for our practices."

In fact, of the doctors who answered Eyefinity's 2006 survey on hiring practices in their offices, some 44% reported that they were not certain of a job candidate's skills and experience after completing their interviews. The research also discovered that many offices were not using a number of important hiring tools such as employment applications, standardized interview questions, etc., that would enhance their ability to fully understand a candidate's capabilities.

The guide, which is available at no cost, includes a variety of helpful tools and resources to address these needs. Eyefinity will also offer a one-hour free online education program for customers, beginning July 10, 2007. Customers will have the opportunity to hear from a panel of experts regarding the techniques for successful hiring, and they will be able to hear first-hand how these techniques have been successfully implemented.
