Michael R. Marino, OD

Dr. Marino is originally from Pennsylvania, but has lived in North Carolina since he attended Wake Forest University. He graduated from there with a degree in Biology and Math in 1994. Then, he went to the New England College of Optometry where he graduated with honors in 1998. He has been practicing in North Carolina since then. While in optometry school, he received the Bausch & Lomb Great Start Award for Excellence in Contact Lens Care and the New England College of Optometry Clinic Award for most outstanding clinician in 1998. He is also a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa optometric honor fraternity. Dr. Marino has extensive experience managing ocular disease and fitting contatc lenses. he has successfully fit many with bifocal and specialty lenses who have said they "could not be fit with contact lenses."



Elana M. Scheiner, OD

Dr. Scheiner is originally from New Jersey and has been practicing optometry in North Carolina since 1998. She graduated from Rutgers University in 1993 with a degree in Excercise Science. She then graduated from the New England College of Optometry in 1997. Prior to her move to the Triangle, she completed a one-year residnecy in Rehablitative Optometry at the West Haven VA Medical Center in West Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Scheiner's specialty of low vision enables her to evaluate and make recommendations for the visually impaired and legally blind. She is the low vision consultant for various ophthalmology groups in the areaas well as serving the Wake County Publci School system abd the Governor Morehead School for the Blind. Dr. Scheiner emphasizes maximizing visual function and independence thus enhanceing overall quality of life. Inaddition to working with the visualy impaired, she also performs preventative eye health examinations and contact lens evaluations for all ages.
