Dr. Bowers received his Bachelors Degree from Ohio University and received his Doctoral Degree from Ohio State University College of Optometry. He has resided in Englewood since 1974.

Dr. Bowers has served on the Englewood City Council for over 25 years and has presided as Mayor for the last ten years. Previously he served on the Planning Commission for two years.

His interests include fishing and other outdoor recreational activities.

He is the proud father of one daughter serving as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. State Department.
