Jeremy Law
Eyefinity
Eyefinity EHR Product Manager
With a background in communications, regulatory compliance, technology, and working in his father's long-standing optometry practice, it's no wonder Jeremy Law ended up at Eyefinity, leading one of its major software solutions. While earning an English degree from California State University, Long Beach, Jeremy studied under a professor who happened to work for Eyefinity and encouraged him to apply for a technical writing position.
Though Jeremy landed here as a writer in 2018, he is now the Product Manager for Eyefinity EHR and describes his role as "collaborating with doctors and technicians to develop a vision" for Eyefinity EHR. But it's a bit of detective work too—discovering areas for improvement, then identifying and prioritizing solutions. A large portion of his job is listening to providers and helping feedback come to fruition on behalf of those using Eyefinity EHR every day. On a personal level, Jeremy finds a sense of satisfaction in bringing doctors’ ideas to life and enjoys the fact that each day is a little different from the last.
"I like that sort of unpredictable aspect to it,” he says. “It's a lot of fun. Keeps me on my toes."
After observing his father’s optometry career over the last 40 years, Jeremy has come to harbor a deep appreciation for doctors and the technology that enhances their expertise. A century ago, diagnoses relied more on educated guesswork and treatments required more invasive procedures than they do today. Now, thanks to deeper research and more advanced technology in the field, doctors can "come to a decision with a very high degree of certainty,” based on the tools available to them.
"I think it's incredible what doctors are capable of today. It’s a huge motivator for me, and I love that I get to learn something new every day," Jeremy says.
Jeremy and his wife live in southern California. Beyond Eyefinity, he enjoys building computers, plays several string instruments, and has performed improv for over a decade, so when he’s not at work or traveling, you're likely to find him on a stage.
